Read.

Go to S****'s Cakes. (not true)

I don't know, uh, balancing.
11. What is your mom really good at?
Reading.
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Hula Hooping.
13. What does your mom do for her job?
Take care of her kids.

Cheese.

When you had D.

That's a hard one. Please don't write that, please don't write that. UM, what did you ask? UM, UM,I don't know.

We were just like each other when we were little.

She's grown up and I am younger.

By her face.

Doing my chores.

Not doing my chores.

Talk in a funny voice.
5. What was your mom like as a child?
Very risky... for money!! (whatever that means-honestly I have no idea)
6. How old is your mom?
32--like Dennis Pitta (BYU football player whose number is 32).
7. How tall is your mom?
14 inches, I mean 50.
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
Play with ds-D.
9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
play on the computer.
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
It would be...well, you are famous...an artist.
11. What is your mom really good at?
Being an artist.
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Not very good at...idon't know...you are good at everything.
13. What does your mom do for her job?
Take care of children.
14. What is your mom's favorite food?
Raviolis. (he had that for lunch at school today)
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
Wow, that hard, UM, when you sell and make lots of money.

It would be Amber Clegg the cartoon character, and I would name you Uniqua.

Date and snuggle.

Red Boots

I was at Mike's work today, and we were commenting on how we all LOVED dd-S's red boots that she was wearing. One of the therapist there mentioned what a great scrapbook page it would be, and I was reminded of these pictures I took a while back. . .

Everything here is made by me all available in my SA store (except the bling--that is at the-lilypad.com right now).

I tell ya! She loves her red boots.

Another little story, since I am typing right now anyway... I was sitting the other day and and told her (S) to come over to me, that I had something VERY important to tell her. So she did and I whispered that I love her very much in her ear. Then, a second later, she said, "Mom, I have something VERY important to tell you." I went over, fully expecting the little whisperings of "I love you."

BUT instead I got, "MOM, if a mosquito flies around and lands on you, you HAVE to smack it, if you don't smack it and kill it, it will bite you and make you itch!"

hmmm--I think she might be getting plagued by 'squitos right now. (we have a ton in our yard.)

and, Heather, no-see-ums, is the name that our insect book gives for those little bugs we were talking about. :)

GOOOOOOO COOOOUUUUGGGSSSS!!!!

YAY!! We had the funnest time yesterday. :) It was a long day, as we left our house at 7:00 am and didn't return home until 7:30 pm. But it was so worth it. We had a blast at the game. I was a little bummed that I didn't get to hang out with Misty more, we both had our own huge group of people we brought with us, so we ended up sitting far away from each other. I do have to admit that part of the fun for me was to sit in the stadium and think about my dear ol' high school gang and the many times they sat in the stadium watching James (our buddy that played for UW) or cheering for ThEIR team. It was fun to think of them. So, all you peops!!! I hope you are doing well, and I miss you!!

Tha game was fun. We got there early and had our own little tail gate party: sandwiched, chips, cookies and bottled water. lol!! WE had two of the young men from our ward with us and one dad. So we had fun getting to know his dad, whom I had not even met yet. He was super great. He was awesome with all the kiddos around. He was a UW fan though. but we still let him sit with us. :)
J is a committed fan, watched the whole game without pause, not getting bored or anything (except a potty break). He used the binoculars to get a closer look and was thrilled when he located Pitta in the warm ups before the game. dd-A was also a huge trouper. While she is not into the game as much, she was very awesome and sat there and watched and was VERY good. Mike and I got a huge kick out of when she got her turn with the binoculars she quickly took them to get a better look at the cheerleaders. LOL!!! dd-S sat with the girls of some friends of ours for a huge portion of the game, and kept them laughing with her funny little comments, like, "I think we should go home, we haven't been there for a VERY long time." And also had them in stitches when she started asking everyone around her if they had any money so that she could get enough money to buy her sister a lemon-aide. HAHAAAA!! funny funny girl. ds-D was WELL--a year old baby at a football game. :) he was a handful , but was as awesome as one could expect. he got passed around and many hand helped to give me a break, and I actually got to watch a decent portion of the game. Thanks to everyone who took their turn with him.


After the game we waited what seemed like FOREVER (mainly because the sun was so hot and I am not a fan of the heat or direct sunlight) to meet Dennis Pitta. Mike's mom had arranged for us to meet him and that was great for the kids. He was awesome and took time to sign EVERYTHING we threw at him and even gave J some "knucks" when J pulled out his own football jersey to show him that he picked #32. Very awesome. :)





We also survived the first week of school. PHEW!! It is always an adventure with change for my kids. I find myself reacting so differently with each child because I think I feel a bit of how they feel.

I knew how nervous J was, a new school and new experience. He gets so worked up over test (spelling) and the potential of what could happen. He told me at the open house for his school that he felt a little sick, like he does before spelling tests. On the way to school he asked me if he was going to have a spelling test that day. My poor boy! So I found myself crying a little as I dropped him off (well, walked him in), and feeling nervous for him all day. I felt a huge sense of relief when I picked him up. No major catastrophes. Just a bit of a black eye from someone helping him fall off the bars.

Then with A, I was so chill. She has the same teacher as J did last year. So she was just excited!! She even let me brush her hair. LOL!! I didn't worry one bit about her all day. I was still preoccupied with worrying about J. The pick up schedule is a little crazy. Their schools get out VERY close to the same time and I have to drive from one end of the city to the other. But I think we have it settled. We might try it a little differently this week, we'll see.

I have thoroughly been enjoying the quiet time with S and D. S and I spend lots of time snuggling and reading books. I think she really loves having me more to herself. D is crawling and getting into everything. I am pretty sure he will be walking in two weeks. He stands up all by himself and takes a few steps. I have finally bought a super long gate. It extends five feet, so it should close off one side of my living room. and then I will gate off my kitchen at the entry way. So those of you who have been to my home...it will give him access to the living room, dining room and kitchen. I will lock him in there when I am in the kitchen cooking or doing dishes or something. That will be nice. Poor poor D! He will NOT be happy about that. hahahaaa!

My dd-A had her first soccer game. :) WOOO HOOO!!! She did great. Her coach said she was a natural. They play 3 a side which is so much better for the young ones. It is definitley not as mob ballish as it was when I was coaching Misty. It was just fun to watch her be her and do something that only she is doing. It was good for her.





Dance starts tomorrow. dd-S had her class before we get the kiddles from school and then we go back for dd-A's two classes. She is NOT doing hip hop this year. She said she was not fond of shaking her booty like that. LOL!! We are totally fine with that. She is doing a beginning ballet class, which she gets to use the barre (yes, this is spelled correctly). and she is beyond excited about that. She is also taking a tap/jazz/ballet combo, which will focus more on the tap and jazz. Poor J really hates Mondays once dance starts. I just drag him around with us at the mall all day long and he is so bored. I am going to have to figure some things out for him.

Also, I was busy being crafty this week. My dear internet friend, Jacque, and I have been busy working on a new child's quiet book. We have done a Book of Colors and an ABC book and Activities Collection, and this last week we just finished up MY NUmber BOok and Cubes. We put it in her store this time to see how it does over there and becasue I am the guest designer at their site, the-lilypad for this month. :) For any of you that might not know, I do some digital scrapbook designing and sell my things at scrapartist.com. I have loads of fun doing it.

So we did that. :) I actually made the cubes and the album shown. I know, a little too crafty for me. LOL!! but my kiddos love them.

I have been sick all week, so I have been very behind in laundry and dishes. I mostly caught up on dishes today, but I have loads of laundry to do.. UGH!!! I hope to get that caught up by Tuesday! Wish me luck.

relaxing a bit!

We have been slowing down a bit here. :) That is so nice. Swim lessons have finished, and J moved up a level. :) He is swimming short distances now and need to work on endurance. We are very thrilled with that, because M doesn't want to take him out in his boat without him knowing how to swim--even though he would ALWAYS be wearing a life jacket. So we are almost there. dd-A is a fish and really catches on quickly. She still has a bit to work on with her stroke, but she too is swimming short distances. they also both can jump in off the diving board and and swim all the way to the side of the pool on their own. They are very proud of themselves, and I am feeling relieved to be able to take them to the pool and not fear for them as much.

We are going to sign then up for private swim lessons. They have taken 4 private lessons already and we think that is what finally pushed J over his swimming slump.

We are doing dance for the girls, which starts soon. And then soccer for A and football for J, which practices started last week. M is coaching the football team, so that is nice for me to have him taking J and everything.

I made a day trip to visit Misty and my Dad. It was fun to see them, although it was very quick.

I have started designing a bit again. The summer sort of zapped my free time, so I basically took the summer off. LOL!! It has been nice to be creative again. there is nothing new in my store yet, I am a guest designer next month at a different site (still hush hush--it hasn't been announce yet--so I can't say which site yet, but I will in a week.) And I am trying to get some things finished to put in the SA store. :) Hopefully soon.

anyway, I am sleepy and still need to get some things done. TTFN!

A little more detail...

Well, everything from the middle of July until the second week in August was sort of a blurr! We were just going a little crazy doing so much. We left for UT in the middle of July. DH-M (not that I have any other DH-LOL!!) spent five days there with me and I spent a few more days there without him.

We had J's annual cardiology appt. Which was uneventful. Just normal. J is definitely growing up and wanted to ask his doctor some questions of his own. I wasn't quite sure how to answer them. Luckily she did. He wanted to know how to get rid of his tachycardia, and what exactly it was. She drew him a great diagram, basically showing the electrical currents of his heart and adding this extra dot on the outside of his heart which is what enables his heart to pick up the electrical current and send it back around in his heart again, like a cat chasing it's tail, as the Doc says. He understood what she explained. It was cool for him to GET it. He had thought there was a hole in his heart, and I kept telling him there wasn't. LOL!! She explained the whole process of the procedure he would go through to get rid of the tachycardia. It is an in and out same day procedure. The procedure scared him a bit, but then she explained that he wasn't even supposed to think about it again until he was 12 years old. And then we'd talk about it again. LOL!! and that made him feel better. He did receive a few new instructions from her. No caffeinated beverages, and a prescription for a beta blocker to have on hand just in case we can't break his tachycardia by having him on stand on his head.

We drove home and then the had one day to recover, then we had our churches dance festival. It was highlighted in the church news. It was a huge event and it was coupled with Youth Conference, so with DH's calling in church he was involved. And while he was doing that I was visiting family (see the Whaling Days post). Then after that was finished I had a few days to get ready for family to arrive and for the baptism.

I had a couple of the youth from the church come over to help with the lawn and some of the cleaning and we had fun. We ended up playing with dart guns, throwing balls at each other and playing the wii. LOL!!

Dh's parent's and his brother-C and his wife-V arrived and we very helpful in getting things ready and for that I am grateful.

Saturday my brother's wife-J and 4 of her 5 kiddos came, as well as two of my sisters, M and H and their children (5 more kids) and also my parents and their daughter-J. PHEW!!! LOL!!
Grandma C... gave a great talk on baptism and the Grandpa D... gave a great talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost. dd-A has decided that she wants Grandpa D... to speak on the Gift of the Holy Ghost at her baptism because she wants a comforter and flashlight, too. hee hee!
we had a nice, small group of friends from our ward there. I absolutely have to thank my sis H for suggesting that all the cousins there sing I Am a Child of God. It was perfectly sweet to have them singing. (YOO HOO--I need pics of the practice. LOL). J's best friend from school showed up. they got lost on the way there, but found the church after the actual baptism, but were there for the last half of the service. J was so thrilled when he came back in the room after changing and found her sitting there. YEAH!! he would have been sad had she missed it.

After the baptism we had all the family come over for roll sandwiches (which H and M so graciously made 70 or so rolls), fruit, veggies, chips, and potato salad. All of which was prepared before hand mostly by my mother in law! (Thanks!) My dad had made a rocket launcher and brought it up. The kids (including two grown men-hahaaaa) had a blast building and specializing their rockets to make them fly hight, twist and twirl, etc.

I really don't think the day could have been any more perfect.

And for all my old shloomies (roommates) from BYU that read this. . .Guess which cousin this is holding my little D. Yeppers that is my brothers son, A, whom we had at our house all the time(back when he was 2) LOL!!

My sis H and her kiddos stayed for a few more days. Then two days after they left we had J's actual bday party with his friends. (his first on ever). He had a blast.
That same night M and P and little T came up again. They were going to go away the next night for their anniversary, and I was watching T for them while they went. So the next day I was mom to two babies around the age of one. ACK!! LOL!! They fought over golf/ping pong balls, pushed each other over and then also became good friends playing side by side ransacking my kitchen cupboards, and especially loved the tupperware drawers. And I got T to each broccoli, which M said wouldn't happen. TEEHEE HEEE!!!Then that Saturday I packed up my four kids and T and drove for 2 1/2 hours to spend the evening with my brother and his family. Dad brought the rocket launcher there as well and again, it was a HUGE hit. I LOVED seeing my brother and his family! It was too short but so worth it. I didn't even take a single picture while with them. Shoot! but I was a little preoccupied, since I had both T and my little D. Hahaaa!

And all the while this week DH-M was trying to finish up this HUGE project for work.

Last week was finally normal again. We just had swimming lessons and then we started soccer practice for A and football practices for J. By the way my kids are finally nearly swimming on their own. YAY!!!!

Again, we had the youth from our ward call and come over to play rock band. It was fun. We are always happy to have them around.

SO there, a quick recap of about a month. As you can see, it has been a little busy. I am looking forward to the last few weeks of summer and then to get back into a nice routine with school and such. I SO need it.

By the way, I finished the Twilight series. Loved it!! :)

The baptism

Two weekends ago J was baptized. I can't express the joy that I felt as I sat there and witnessed this ordinance. I am so blessed to have a husband who is a worthy priesthood holder able to perform the baptism, and my sweet sweet son here to be baptized. It was a special day. In addition to the ordinance I had tons of family around helping and participating which made the day all the more special. THANK YOU to everyone who came.

Whaling Days

Two weeks ago, I got to spend a day with my sisters, Misty and Heather, and go to the whaling days fair with them. I missed the parade. I have a few pictures. We told the kiddos that they could only go on one ride. Heather's children and mine we so sweet together. They buddied up and stayed together so well.

A & S chose a simple ride, they enjoyed it, but I thought it was too short and too expensive.

A & A chose the most grown up ride. (I even get sick on it) They were VERY excited at first.
This adorable photo was snapped perfectly as they ride just barely started up. I love the look of excitement they gave each other.
A & J actually got to do two rides. (We just happened to have a few extra tickets. ) The first one they went on they thought was pretty dumb, and the second one was the kiddie roller coaster, you know the kind that BARELY move up and down, LOL!! but they had fun.
Heather's eldest bought a HUGE snow cone for all the cousins to share. It was very generous of her, as she used her own money. Of course, as the eldests they got the first few sips of it.
It was a fun filled day, we went to Dad's house and played and then we invaded Misty's. She is such a good sport.
